Meet the school — JDMIS facilities, faculty and philosophy

Dean and founder Tanja Sadow at the school — this page links every claim it makes so you can verify all of them.

This guide is published by JDMIS — so this page is the school putting its own
cards on the table, with a link behind every claim.

Dean and founder Tanja Sadow, from the school's gem webinar series

The campus

JDMIS occupies dedicated studios at 91 Bencoolen St, #03-01 Sunshine Plaza —
minutes from Bras Basah and Bugis MRT. The
learning facilities
include design studios, a metals workshop, and the gem facilities used by the
gemmology programmes. Directions and transport:
location page.

The people

Dean and founder Tanja Sadow built the school in 2007 around a simple claim:
jewellery is a teachable profession, not a gift. The
faculty page
lists the specialist instructors — each with a trade history in the subject
they teach. The
dean's message
states the philosophy in her own words.

The teaching philosophy

The
learning philosophy
page explains the method: small classes, hands-on production from the first
session, and assessment against professional finishing standards — the
standards retail buyers actually apply.

The accountability

Since 2007 JDMIS has trained thousands of students, publishes
course reviews
openly, and describes its
commitment to quality
in writing. Apply the four tests from the
choosing guide — that is what they are for.

The no-commitment options

to see how the school teaches before you ever visit — or

and see it in person.
