Singapore regulates private education through the Committee for Private Education (CPE, under SkillsFuture Singapore). For a jewellery student it means concrete things:
- Registered status — statutory requirements met: premises, governance, quality processes.
- Contract clarity — advertised course information and fee practices follow rules; you sign informed agreements, not handshakes.
- Fee protections — many registered PEIs participate in protection schemes; ask which applies.
- A regulator above the school — a complaint channel exists. That fact alone changes how schools handle problems.
Verify via the school's own statements — JDMIS puts its position in writing on the commitment page — and CPE's public registers.
In your checklist this is Test 4 of the four tests: accountability. Registration is the floor, not the ceiling — read the published reviews page too.
