Bench skills are corrected, not explained — instructor attention is the true currency of a jewellery class.
The attention budget — a three-hour class at one-to-twelve gives each student maybe fifteen supervised minutes; one-to-eight doubles or triples it. Over a ladder, that compounds into different jewellers entirely.
Ask before enrolling: maximum class size — enforced, not aspirational; whether practical sessions are supervised by trained instructors; how individual feedback is delivered (continuous, or only at assessment).
Red flag — pricing that only works with enormous classes. Studios run on ratios; quality costs something per seat. The philosophy is stated on the philosophy page and visible on any visit.
